Brazil
Hugely diverse landscapes and population plus a reputation as one of the most accommodating countries for commercial shoots.
Filming in Brazil
Brazil is an emerging market for destination shoots, with locations that have not been overshot. From the skyline and creative energy of São Paulo to the iconic beaches and mountains of Rio de Janeiro and the Amazon, your production can find nearly any look within one country.
Homes, offices, restaurants, coffee shops and built sets are easy to find and easy to transform. Brazil’s diverse talent pool and experienced crews bring energy and craft to every set, and a bilingual producing team supports your production.
Climate
Brazil is large, so the weather depends on the region. The Southeast, including São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, is warm and rainy from roughly November through March, and cooler and drier from about May through September. The Amazon has a wet season from about December through May and a drier season from roughly June through November.
Our Partner
Our Partner highlights the country’s mix of experienced crews, diverse casting talent and adaptable locations. Homes, offices, restaurants, cafés and built sets can be sourced or transformed to fit a creative brief, supported by a bilingual producing team accustomed to international production standards.
An indicative shoot day is around US$140,000, according to our Partner, with a broader working range of US$90,000–180,000 for a 12-hour day depending on production requirements and location. Additional crew travel costs may apply for beach destinations. They advise that production incentives are not currently available in Brazil.
Tax Breaks & Incentives
Incentives are not currently available. Shoot days are budgeted at 12 hours (headlamps to taillights, including lunch). A shoot day can range from $90,000 to $180,000 USD, depending on the size and location of the production. Traveling to the beach adds travel expenses for the crew. The average is around $140,000 USD.
