Colombia

An emerging and exciting country.

Filming in Columbia

Colombia is an emerging market for destination shoots, so locations and talent feel fresh. Our bilingual crews are experienced and used to international productions, and our production designers make set construction more affordable without compromising craft.

Standing sets, built sets, homes, offices, restaurants and coffee shops are easy to find and easy to transform, and the diverse local talent pool suits a wide range of casting needs.

Bogotá, Cartagena, the Caribbean coast, coffee country and the mountains add variety when you need it.

Climate

Altitude shapes the weather as much as the season. Bogotá and the Andean highlands are cool year-round, with the driest weather from December through March and another drier stretch from June through August. The wettest months are April and May and October and November. The Caribbean coast, including Cartagena, is hot and humid, with the driest weather from December through April.

Our Partner

Our Partner works with experienced bilingual crews and production designers who can help create high-quality sets while managing costs. Homes, offices, restaurants, coffee shops, standing sets and custom-built environments offer flexibility for commercial shoots, alongside a diverse local talent pool for casting. For planning purposes, our Partner quotes a typical 12-hour shoot day at approximately US$130,000, with an indicative range of US$90,000–180,000 depending on the size and location of the production. Travel to coastal locations can add crew travel costs. Film incentives are available, while advertising incentives are described by our Partner as expected in mid-2027 rather than currently available.

Our Partner is based in Bogotá’s Chico neighbourhood and is set up to support international productions from early planning through the shoot.

Tax Breaks & Incentives

Film incentives available. Advertising incentives are coming in mid-2027. Shoot days are budgeted at 12 hours (headlamps to taillights, including lunch). A shoot day can range from $90,000 to $180,000 USD, depending on the size and location of the production. Travelling to the beach adds travel expenses for the crew. The average is around $130,000 USD.
